Flight Safety Manager POSITION IS LOCATED IN AFGHANISTAN Main Liaison: Internal: Chief of Safety, Maintenance QA, Chief of Maintenance, Chief Pilot, External: US Army Combined Joint Task Force, Senior US Military Officers, NATO/ISAF, Afghan Civil Aviation Authority, Afghan Ministry of Transportation and Civil Aviation, Afghan Ministry of Defense, other business units Prime Objective: Works with the Chief of Safety to implement, facilitate and oversee safety protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, and checks and balances to ensure safe flight operations throughout the theater of operations. Key Tasks: Implement established safety procedures Develop self inspection checklists Assist in mishap investigations Develop FOD, CTK and similar safety programs Assist with safety course development and procedures Complete safety audits and inspections Facilitate external safety inspections Ensure safety compliance Maintain safety databases Essential Skills and Qualifications: Former US/UK/AUS (or equivalent) Military Flight Safety NCO or Officer Trained in, participated in, or experienced with US Military safety courses and procedures HAZMAT trained in flight and ground operations Prior experience working within a multicultural environment Excellent written and spoken English Preferable Skills and Qualifications: Previous combat tour, or extensive experience in austere environments Russian language abilities
