Aviation Health and Safety Manager POSITION LOCATED IN UAE Responsibility for Staff: Directly: Health and Safety Specialists Main Liaison: Internal: Director, Operations Controllers, Assistant Operations Controller, GM's, AGMs, Operations and Ramp managers, and Aviation Field Managers, Warehouse Managers External: Contractors working on site Prime Objective: Establish a Health and Safety Management System that is compliant with OHSAS 18001:2007, monitor compliance, advise and assist Key Tasks: Compare the current H&S system with the requirements of OHSAS 18001 and provide analysis report Develop required documentation, operational checks and reports for the Health and Safety Management System to be compliant with OHSAS 18001 standards. Advise preventive procedures. Execute continuous audits Develop and in force preventive H&S measures Provide all H&S training and manage all the training materials. Provide H&S improvement proposals stating: the non conformance, proposed corrective action, required resources for corrective action and plan of implementation. Investigate HSE complaints put forward by staff members, customers, clients and contractors and report implemented changes where operationally sustainable. Understand the risks associated with theatre environments and operational tempo Source and provide PPE to employees Minimize risk to employees, aircraft and assets Manage a team of H&S professionals Essential Skills and Qualifications: Excellent analytical skills Excellent training skills Understand aircraft and air cargo ground operations and procedures Well developed planning and organization skills. Ability to work with multicultural employees Able to provide detailed audit reports, with relevant required preventive and corrective measures Fluent English speaking and writing Qualified H&S inspector Previous experience in aviation and ramp operations
