| HSE Manager (Logistics) POSITION LOCATED IN AFGHANISTAN. USA Interviews Sept 18-20th. Responsibility for Staff: Responsible to: Group Technical Manager Directly: •Nil Indirectly: •HSE Auditor Main Liaison: Internal: •Warehouse Managers, Catering Managers, General Managers, Group Technical Manager, QA Personnel. External: •DoD/ ISAF / US Veterinarian / UKMoD/ Medical Personnel, External Training Companies. Prime Objective: •To manage and promote continuous improvement of the HSE program throughout all of the business units. •Monitor compliance of the HSE program through internal auditing and implement an effective reporting procedure with trend analysis. •Oversee management of corrective action program through direct contact with relevant managers to ensure actions are implemented in a timely manner with an effective outcome Key Tasks: •Undertake internal audits as per the agreed schedule set by the Group Technical Manager; •Design, implement & maintain the company HSE program. •Monitor and ensure compliance with site's HSE program through internal auditing and reporting deficiencies to FSM, GM's and BUD's; •Oversee the implementation of suggestions and preventative actions raised from the audits; •Report audit score and findings to GTM after each audit conducted; •To be responsible for ensuring that risk and COSHH assessments are carried out for all relevant sites across the Group. •To evaluate health and safety requirements for buildings, equipment and work procedures across all sites •To ensure Managers and staff are kept up to date with current legislation and good practice. •To investigate as necessary, incidents or accidents on sites; resolve problems and initiate action as advisable to improve methods of work and accident reporting procedures as necessary. •Report to senior management quarterly. •To utilize new technology information systems, communications and equipment in the maintenance and updating of records, legislation and regulations appertaining to health and safety. •To assist with in-house induction and specialist safety courses as required Essential Skills and Qualifications: Essential: •A minimum of 5 - 10 years experience within the Health, Safety & Environment field. •Degree or equivalent qualification in Environmental Health •Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation, and legal procedures •Experience of enforcing Health and Safety legislation, conducting premises inspections and auditing to determine compliance with legislative requirements •Experience of investigating work related accidents, ill health reports, in a commercial environment. •HAZMAT, OHSA 500 & 501. HAZWOE. Desirable: •Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner - or equivalent. •Additional post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject, such as NVQ Level 4 in Health and Safety Enforcement, NEBOSH diploma or equivalent •Registered CIEH trainer - or equivalent •EHORB Registration Certificate | |
