Consultant Physician – Internal Medicine Consultant Physician – Internal Medicine Taupo Hospital A full time position is available for an enthusiastic and experienced Consultant Physician at Taupo Hospital. The successful applicant will join a team of Lakes District Health Board Physicians providing specialist internal medicine services to the Lakes District region from both Rotorua and Taupo Hospitals, covering a total population of approximately 100,000, of whom 31% are Maori. As a provincial hospital Taupo has 20 inpatient beds, a day unit, emergency department and outpatient clinics. Secondary hospital services are delivered from Rotorua Hospital which is approx.1hour north of Taupo by road and tertiary support is delivered by Health Waikato, situated in Hamilton which is 2.5hrs north of Taupo. Suitably experienced and qualified applicants must be eligible for Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Taupo, with a population of approximately 30,000 people offers an array of lifestyle options with the largest lake in New Zealand at our doorstep making us a very popular trout fishing destination for visitors. The summer beaches and winter ski fields are also only one hours drive from the town.
